The weather has been FAB, so we drove to the coast on Sunday. We visited a beach town named Domburg in the region of Zeeland. What a nice village - backing onto the dunes and beach with picturesque cottages and buildings and bustling with nice places to have lunch and shop. And what a great beach - broad, flat and sandy. Cute little beach huts along the back of the beach in lovely sun bleached pastel shades. A narrow board walk to make it nice an easy with a pram as well. The sun really did try to breakthrough, but didn't quite manage it (seemed that we left the best weather back at home!), but it was still lovely and warm enough to play on the beach for 3 hours, digging holes, feeding gulls (very exciting for Ruby), Luca running into the icy cold sea (there is no stopping this child near water), Ruby eating sand! A huge ice-cream for Luca and a delicious shakes for Huzz and I followed at De Ijsvogel cafe. We all love a beach, sandy or pebbly, whatever the weather. My dream is to have a beach house one day where we can step through the door and outside to a fresh breeze, the sounds of the waves and the freedom for the children to run and jump and swim for hours and hours. One day, one day.
