That's when I realised that I needed to change my CV comment!! So....
I don't usually have a sweet tooth, but sometimes I feel like a good old munch on something sweet and crunchy and chocolatey (usually with nuts included) and find myself searching out a bag of Maltesers or M&Ms - so easy to pop one after another into my mouth!! But my really sweet tooth does raise its head when Huzz comes home laiden with gifts from afar. Boxes of delicious turkish delight, some dusted with powdered sugar, others with nuts and rolled in shaved coconut, straight from a little shop in Turkey. And even more delightful, occasionally one of Huzz's contacts bring him tins or beautifully carved wooden boxes filled with the most delicious sweets from Syria or Jordan. I cannot resist eating one after another of these pistachios, honey and almond filled sweets.
Wishing you the sweetest of days!
I love Maltesers OO yes I really do!
ReplyDeleteoe!
ReplyDeletebaklava!
i wouldn´t be able to resist either. they look delicious! even the box looks delicious... i think i might need some peanut m&ms. :)
ReplyDeleteOuucchhh..that's hurts! -LOL- (Your stroopwafel remark). You are such a lucky woman that you get to taste sweets from afar. Looks delicious! Now I want M&M's as well. I'm in huge difficulties here.....very huge.
ReplyDeleteThose middle eastern sticky sweets are among my very favorite too. I once tried making them, what a mess!
ReplyDeletehahaha, oops they are gone, m&m's have that, don't they?
ReplyDeleteoh! lovely the way you describe it all! thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteThey look absolutely delicious....I love pistachios with anything. My mouth is watering now! ;0)
ReplyDeleteYour gifts from afar sound really tasteful.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm an M&M girl. especially the nutty ones. Love them!
Turkish delight! my whole family loves it. I go to our local turkish shop and always buy more than I first thought I would..
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same, I don't have a sweet tooth, but sometimes it feels good to have a piece of cake!
ReplyDeleteohhhh they looks not only sweet, they looks so delicious!!! what a great gift!
ReplyDeletemmm, you are a lucky woman - to have all these exotic treats brought to you fro afar :)
ReplyDeletebeing a dane living in israel i do get to taste some - to me - exotic stuff too. the arabic deserts look like the one above, and my husbands family is moroccan and they have some great cookies and cakes too. but usually very sweet. a bite or two is enough.
For me when I eat something sweet I need something salty to follow. So it's a matter of what I want to end with. It's a vicious cycle!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your kiddos names, by the way! I have a Roxy & Luxe. We considered Luca... LOVE it!
Happy Day!
Oh that tin of beautifully presented pastries - a treat for the eyes!
ReplyDeleteOooh, those do look irresistable (and artsy too). The theme of Sweets was a difficult one for me too (at first) but not for the same reason. Hee, hee.
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about sweet things in beautiful boxes: you have to finish the sweets quickly - to make use of the new storage container. :)
ReplyDeleteYou just reminded me that I should walk down Edgeware Road again soon. Mhm, Maroush...
Those pistachio sweets look divine. Especially the presentation. I am a sucker for good presentation. I am all hung up on Reese's Peanut Butter cups at the moment. I like the combination of the saltiness with the sweetness. Same with peanut M&M's. You've got me wanting to run to the nearest sweet shop!
ReplyDeletei'm not much of a sweets person either...but chocolate with nuts? or nutty/coconutty things? yum!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with pien: "oe! baklava!" if you know what I mean... like ;)
ReplyDeleteSweet, crunchy and chocolate-y sounds good to me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!
woow, they look so delicious! I don't have sweet tooth but I do have it in the winter! mmm..
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing!
