Delights from my 2 year old Ruby.
We popped into the Library last week. She calls it the 'bibliotheek' - with a little dutch accent coming through - so cute! As we enter I say "Ruby, remember in the Library you must walk and not run, and you must talk quietly and no shouting".
She says "Ok mama". And then runs off screaming at the top of her voice 'I want a book'.
I left her in the kitchen for a few minutes alone. When I came back, she was standing on her step stool by the microwave. There is a burning smell. Crackles and sparks. She has fried a Game Boy! OMG! Needless to say, Game Boy is the the bin. Microwave shall remain unplugged from now on.
A chair falls on my foot. It hurts so much and I cry a little. So sweetly she comes over to me and says "Mama, I wipe the snot from your eyes". Ahhh.
She screams at her brother. "Luca go away". "Luca don't do that". And yet asks about 20 times a day when we can collect him from school.
She has been wearing her ear muffs around the house. She calls them her 'ear muffins'.
The joy of being 2. Don't you just love 'em.
Hope your week is going well.
Oh I love these. I have to do this every now and then in an effort to remember the sweet and quirky things about my little guys, especially when they're driving me crazy!
ReplyDeleteAwww so cute, she is a sweetie. When my son was two he used to called his sister 'Larry' - although her name is Emily! He also used to call apricots 'six o'clock' - caused much hilarity at the time. These moments are precious - I wish I had more of them on tape. Lou x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to start my day Victoria.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you've captured all of this here to share with Ruby when she's older.

Ear muffins! I love it. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteOh so sweet. Poor fried Game Boy. That is so funny! Ruby sounds and looks adorable. What a wonderful time for you with this little angel. How darling.
ReplyDeleteBless. So, so precious. Except for the game boy...oh dear! Your little one sounds delightful. Enjoy. Alison
ReplyDeleteAn angel :)
ReplyDeleteRuby looks soooo much like you! She is an absolute beauty. I love all of your comments about the things she does, what a wonderful, precious age. Give her a huge kiss from us (and Luca too) xxx
ReplyDeleteOh Vik, the Sherbert Schubert thing was so funny. We had parents evening today and her teacher told us how she stood up and told the class today about Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, where they lived, how many children they had, etc. I think she is going to be an Historian! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a little beauty. Her escapades have really cheered me up!
ReplyDeleteOh no the gameboy! I do also love the age of two, but I'm kind of done with the naughtiness now that she's three. I want that phase to pass.
ReplyDeleteOh Vikki, Ruby looks just like you at that age and what a lovely photo. Such a little lady now than the last time I saw her when she was just about 1 year old. I love all the little things she says. They put a smile on your face. Pat x
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous post, she sounds just precious :) Apart from the Gameboy ;)
ReplyDeleteThese little snippets into the life of a two year old are just adorable. Almost brought a little 'snot' to my eyes. ;) She has the sweetest face.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You'll be so glad you've written all these down in years to come. Still laughing at the ear muffins.
ReplyDeleteMine says 'bop' instead of 'but'. Can't bear to correct her as it sounds so cute!
And I love her outfit!
