guest post over at The Bottom of the Ironing Basket

I was thrilled to be asked by Simone, who writes one of my very favorite blogs 'The Bottom of the Ironing Basket', if I'd like to contribute a Guest Post for her summer series 'Why I Live Where I Live'.

If you'd like to know a little more about me and my family and our moves between the UK, Netherlands and the USA, please pop over to The Bottom of the Ironing Basket.

Thank you.

  1. Thank you so much for participating Victoria, I loved reading your post. I have always loved how you embrace wherever you are living, you always seem to get the most out of it, such a great attitude.

The NYC A Cup of Jo is running a series on "Motherhood Around The World" and it's been interesting - and at times disappointing - to see how people behave/react/feel about living overseas. There was quite an odd one on London last week....you should read it, see if you recognise "your" London, I didn't!!

    Have a wonderful summer Xx

    1. Thank you so much for asking me if I'd like to write a post for you. Yes, I did read Cup of Jo's London mum's post. As both my kiddos were born out of the UK and I never had children of my own whilst living in London,I wasn't able to compare my own experiences. But that said, there were definitely certain things in that post that I'd never heard friends with young children mention or experience - posset for example!

  2. well holy moly isn't it a small world-I read the bottom of the ironing basket and ran across your guest blog-I too live in Oregon. do you know Anne? She just had a Jamie Oliver party and I begged off sick at the last minute. There is quite the ex-pat community here. I am just married to one but nonetheless loved reading about you and yours.

    1. Hi Tina! Wow it is a small world! Yes I know Anne! I was the Consultant for her Jamie Oliver At Home party! We've known each other for years - husbands work at the same company! Hope I get to meet you at one of Anne's parties now that she's a Consultant too. Do you have a blog? Keep in touch, and I'm sure we'll meet in the 'real world' soon! Enjoy this fabulous weather too!
