Market shopping

A weekend of wonderful food was had.
On Saturday evening, I made a great tomato, coriander and chilli salsa with grilled tuna - c/o 'Jamie at Home'. Delicious, very healthy and so easy to make. As opposed to my non-healthy lunch - high tea with friends at a nearby hotel - full on sandwiches, cakes, scones, cream and jam, fudge and of course tea!
South African friends arrived for lunch on Sunday laden down with delicious SA treats - we didn't have to prepare anything! The plan had been to take the children to an outdoor adventure park but the rain just kept coming, so all thoughts of outdoor activity were abandoned in favour of lunch and the boys playing on the Wii. We drank a delicious red wine from the Slanghoek (translates to snake corner) region and ate a classic SA melktert (milk tart) for desert - milky, creamy and light. Ohh..... I think us Foords were most delighted that the rain had stopped outdoor play!!
Here are a couple of photos of the market fruits.
