Retro Sign

Love this retro cinema sign in the town where my mum lives now.

I imagine the ladies during the 50s and 60s, dressed to the 9s in that lovely feminine 'Mad Men' style chic, walking arm in arm to the Regal on a Saturday evening don't you?   Or meeting a date, who's equally dressed for the evening, looking sharp and smart, hair slicked back.

Maybe this song would be going through their minds?

  3. Love old signs like that. Especially anything thirties/art deco. But fifties do it for me too. I posted the other day about my Manhattan Auntie mary and how she was an air hostess. And was 'kept' by an advertising man. All very Mad Men. Can't wait for the next series!

  4. Victoria, this is a lovely post. Wouldn't it be nice to go to the movies dressed like that? I loved it if man would wear suits and hats like they do in Mad Men. Oh so chic.

  5. A different era. I love old signs. And old music. But I'm glad I don't have to frock up every time I leave the house.
