1-1-11

So here we are in Sinapore on the first day of 2011.

It feels mighty strange to me to be in such a tropical environment at this time of year. Hot humid days, punctuated with incredible downpours and thunder storms.  Summer clothes instead of the layer upon layer that I've been wearing these past weeks.  My feet are in heaven in their Havaianas instead of my snow boots (which have been the most worn item in my wardrobe for weeks now).

For New Year's Eve we watched from our terrace the Singapore fireworks explode of the city and marina. Glass of fizz in hand of course.

We are exploring.  Getting used to this busy city.  Trying out all kinds of new foods (the variety is amazing).  Shopping (a national past time it seems).  Soaking up the atmosphere.  Enjoying the warmth.  Half vacation / half orientation.

Could this be our next home?

If you've visited Singapore maybe you have a few tips of 'not to be missed' things to do or see.  Please tell.

  6. It is so weird to be in a different environment for the holidays. This is our first in California and I cannot seem to get used to the 70 degree winter!
