Simone, My husband is quite the baker these days (I just enjoy the rewards). Our kitchen turns into a mini-bakery every weekend with him turning out 4 artisan loaves, at least one foccaccia and a ciabatta. He has a croissant making course coming up too. It's just a hobby for him but he is so good and I know he would love a little bakery of his own (one day maybe).
DeleteWe have 3 fabulous books - The Bread Bible - by Rose Levy Beranbaum. Flour Water Salt Yeast by Ken Forkish (he owns a fabulous bakery here in Portland) and now the new Tartine book I posted. All of these books are really excellent and lead you every step of the way to wonderful home made bread (from scratch - no bread machines involved).
Thanks for the tip on Short & Sweet - I'm off to browse Amazon!
How gorgeous is Ruby?!?!
ReplyDeleteAnd mmmmhm, bread...
