food for thought

Spring has sprung.  We have planted 3 kinds of tomatoes, 2 kinds of carrot, kale, 2 kinds of pepper, 2 kinds of lettuce and beets.  Next up are some herbs (we have chives and basil).  Now we sit and wait and hope for the best!   Fingers crossed for a good first harvest and an abundant crop to keep us going over the summer.   In the meantime, there are masses of recipes I've decided that we (I) must try over the coming months, filled with flavor and color to liven up your tastebuds!

Mushroom, Goat Cheese and Herb Frittata #food #breakfast #eggs

Spaghetti with prawns and rocket

slow-cooked lamb shank pasta with pesto

  1. Mhmmm, that all looks utterly scrumptious! Not long now and I'll have a garden of my own. Yay. And: yikes! it's so much work. And there's so much to learn. How did you do it? Did you grow up to be a gardener or lots of googling + trial and error?

    1. MM - we just decided to go for it and see what happened! Following instructions on the seed packets, a bit of googling about which soil works best in planters etc. So far things are looking good. Everything has started sprouting and I think we're going to run out of space! Good luck with your garden. Let us know how is grows!
