7 Years

7 years since we said 'I Do'.

I do love you.
I do want to share my life with you.
I do want to share my dreams with you.
I do want to make our home together.
I do want wake up with you every day.
I do think I'm the happiest woman alive.
I do wish we'd met earlier in life.

These were my thoughts on our wedding day.  They still are my thoughts.

We married at the beautiful house Somerford Hall, Brewood, Staffordshire on Saturday 22nd March 2003. Our wedding 'party' took place over the whole weekend.  Friday evening dinner and party, with my brother-in-law's band playing, guest appearances singing from the bride-to-be and girlfriends and groom-to-be with his mates as backing singers!  A great way to start our celebations.

The sun was out the whole weekend. Friends and family arriving from around the UK and from far off countries.  Everyone was so relaxed, including us.

My Huzz-to-be made a pre-wedding speech that brought tears in my eyes.  We drank champagne with our family and friends before the ceremony.  Our son Luca just 4 months old wore a t-shirt saying 'Best Boy'.

At 4pm we walked into the ceremony room together, hand in hand, with 'Light My Fire' by The Doors playing.  We were singing too.

I read my poem, taking deep breaths to stop the tears of joy.

We kissed before we were pronounced husband and wife - we couldn't wait!

Laughter and joy filled the room.

When we left the room as Huzz and Wife, 'Voodoo Child' by Jimi Hendrix was playing.

We had a fabulous dinner, wonderful speeches, music and dancing, photographs and memories.

The joy, the fun, the friends and family.  Our wedding weekend was unforgettable.

I'd do it all again today if I could.

Happy 7th Huzz.
