We have a pretty small garden, with little shade, so my mission is to track down a nice parsol/ canopy / umbrella for us to keep a little cooler under, whilst lounging (if you can call sharing a 1m x 1m space with a near 2 year old and numerous plastic toys 'lounging') in the paddling pool. I'd prefer one that has a side stand so it doesn't take up too much space in the center of the garden. Here a few of my favs.
This looks equally as good when folded down.
My favourite refreshing drink right now is
tonic water and water mixed with slices of cucumber, lemon and lime, and lots of ice.
What are you doing to keep your cool this summer?
That's hot! It looks set to be a very hot weekend here...we tend to go in and out of the house to stay cool and they go outside later in the day as we're all really fair. x
ReplyDeleteWhen looking at prospective houses to buy we found a cute Rectory (but didn't buy it obviously as we spied The Larches) In the garden the man had a little wooden shed/sun room. It was on a turnstyle, a chineses-style lazy susan thingy. He rotated it for sun or shade. I want one desperately now!
ReplyDeleteOh, these are fantastic picks! Especially love #2.
ReplyDeleteI have to shamedfacedly admit to going out to shopping malls and department stores to keep cool some days. When we're in the garden, it's paddling pools, water and ice lollies.
ReplyDeleteWell, in Florida we are shamelessly addicted to air conditioning. Today is in the 90's (fahrenheit) and about an hour ago my air conditioner stopped working! : (
ReplyDeleteAlthough we are not too far from the beach and the ocean, the sea breezes don't reach us here, so it looks like we'll have to go to them!
Your favorite drink is my favorite drink, too. I like to add mint to my cucumber water, though. Love the patio furniture images. Wish I had a patio. :) Hoping your weekend goes wonderfully well.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Sumer. The umbrellas would be a nifty way to keep cooler in hot temperatures. I can relate, I live in Florida. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am trying not to venture outside at all at the moment. I find laying down on the sofa underneath the aircon is the only way to deal with a heatwave.
ReplyDeleteThat yellow one looks like a pineapple when folded down. Cute! I am sweltering. I am melting. Yesterday I went to London and nearly passed out in a little ball of sweat on the train. Anything with ice will do me.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are lovely! To sit at patio and have a glass of white wine would be wonderful! Hope you are having a great weekend!
