like father like daugher etc

I've mentioned previously my love of Converse All Stars haven't I?  And that of Ruby as well.  I've kept all Luca's from age 2 - 5 (they are so cute those little ones).

Well, so did my dad it seems.  Here he is, on a holiday with the boys (and one unidentifiable lady) in Jaywick, nr Clacton-on-Sea in the UK, in June 1957.  He's the one sitting on the fence, shirt off, looking moody and cool, wearing his high-tops!

Looks like the love of Converse is in our genes eh!

  1. I don't usually enjoy looking at people's photos but yours are always so brilliant.

I bought some converse in Florida in November and I'm really gutted that I appear to have bought them a size too small - I have hugely wide feet - I am hoping they stretch.

  8. Hello! I've missed you too. It's always nice to come here. I've popped in a few times to see how things were.

What a cool photo! Just love it. And that gorgeous photo of Ruby in the dress that E has too. Too bad she outgrew hers before she got much wear out of it. I buy things ahead for the coming season and didn't expect her to grow quite so much.

I've just heard that Converse have teamed up with Marimekko to produce a range of Converse. I adore Marimekko. Here's the link if you're interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV9b_288DnU

  12. I LOVE things that are timeless Americana. Converse is a great example...and what a great family photo. You need to frame that as a piece in your home decor!

  15. Definitely! My father-in-law rode his bike from Seattle, WA to Los Angeles, CA in the 1950s in his Chuck Taylor Converses! Eddie has had two pairs already. Love them.
