lemon lavender gin fizz

We recently went to a lovely summer evening drinks party at a friends that leaves nearby.  It was just the right distance from home for us to have a good few of the wonderful Lemon Lavender Gin cockails made to order and have a late night wander home.

The Huzz and I are quite partial to our G'n'Ts but this Lemon Lavender Gin cocktail has really got us hooked.   The scent and taste of the lavender is so delicate and a great contrast to the gin.

Here's how it goes to make one cocktail (although I'm sure you will like more than just the one!)...

Lemon Lavender Gin Fizz

Ingredients

2 oz Gin
1 1/2 oz Lavender simple syrup
3/4 oz lemon juice
Dash of club soda
A twist of lemon to garnish

How to make Lavender Simple Syrup
(1 cup)

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 tbsp dried Lavender buds

Directions to make the Lavender Simple Syrup

Heat sugar and water in a small saucepan with the Lavender until the sugar has fully dissolved.  Bring to the boil, then sent aside to cool.  Strain out the Lavender and refrigerate.

Directions to make the cocktail

Pour Gin, simple syrup and lemon juice into a glass and stir.  Top with club soda, garnish with lemon and enjoy!

Happy summer evenings to you.
